HANASAKA” is a brand of tableware that focuses on the clay and production area of Kutani Yaki. The name “HANASAKA” is derived from “Hanasaka Pottery Stone,” the raw material of Kutani ware. Currently, there are only a few mines where Hanasaka pottery stone can be quarried, and while Kutani ware is widely known, such a situation is hardly known. Underneath the beautiful painting of Kutani ware lies our commitment to supporting Kutani ware as an earthenware factory since its establishment in 1951.
We would like to pass on not only the painting techniques and styles of Kutani ware, but also the mountains and environment behind it to the future.
From the perspective of Kutani ware clay production, the mission of HANASAKA is to create a production area where land, culture, and the future are united by connecting the kilns that fire the clay that underpins the beautiful painting and the various people beyond that.
Through the medium of clay, Taniguchi Seisakusho hopes to continue its activities to convey messages to the future, and to make a new future bloom.

九谷焼の土と産地にこだわるテーブルウェアのブランド「HANASAKA」。九谷焼の原料である「花坂陶石」に由来しています。現在、花坂陶石は採石できる鉱山が少なく、九谷焼が広く知られる反面、そうした現状はほとんど知られていません。九谷焼の美しい絵付けの下に、私たちのこだわりがあります。1951年の創業以来、製土工場として九谷焼を支えてきました。
私たちは、九谷焼の絵付技術や様式の継承だけではなく、その後ろにある山や環境のことも未来に伝えていきたいと考えています。
九谷焼の粘土製造の視点から、美しい絵付けを下支えしている生地焼成の窯元と、その先の様々な人とを結びつけ、土地・文化・未来が一体となる産地のものづくりが、「HANASAKA」のミッションです。
谷口製土所は、土というメディアを通し、未来に向けメッセージを伝える活動を続けて、新しい未来を開花させたいと願っています。
Kutani ware is completed mainly through the hands of two potters. One is the kiln where the overglaze painting is done, and the other is the kiln where the fabric is fired. In the case of Kutani ware, the fabric is the canvas on which the elaborate painting is done. Kutani ware has been highly valued as a craft because of this painting. A great deal of time and effort is spent on the painting. The white cloth used for this purpose has also required appropriate skills.

九谷焼は、主に２つの窯元の手を介し完成します。一つは上絵を描く窯元、もう一つが生地を焼く窯元です。九谷焼において生地とは、精緻な絵付けをするためのキャンバスです。九谷焼は、この絵付によって工芸品として高く評価をされてきました。膨大な時間と手間をかけて描く上絵。そのための白生地もまた、相応の技術を求められてきました。

Kazuyosi Higashi is the fourth generation of the Kyokuzangama kiln, and while inheriting the traditional firing of white porcelain of Kutani Yaki porcelain, he creates vessels that are easy to use for daily life. They also produce Une.

Kinmeigama / Akio Takayama
