置物素地製陶 / 大正3年(1914)創業 宮創製陶所
The Miyasou-seitousho is one of the existing pottery works in Komatsu-hachiman, which prospered as a major production area for pottery ornaments.
In Kutani, where painting is the mainstay of pottery, making the base is a behind-the-scenes job and is not well known to the general public. However, Komatsu-hachiman is one of the few places in Japan where many potteries make base for ornaments, and they have very advanced techniques.
Among them, Miyasou-seitousho still owns many molds made by highly skilled craftsmen in the Taisho and Showa eras, when Kutani-yaki ornaments were at their peak of prosperity, and some of the oldest molds are as old as 100 years.

宮創製陶所(みやそうせいとうしょ)は、焼き物の置物素地製陶の一大生産地として栄えた小松八幡に現存する製陶所の一つです。
絵付けを特徴とする九谷において、素地づくりは裏方の仕事として、一般にはあまり知られていません。しかし、小松八幡は、全国的にも稀な、置物素地製陶所の集住地であり、とても高度な技術力を持っています。
その中でも宮創製陶所は、九谷焼の置物がもっとも繁栄していた大正・昭和の時代の技術の高い職人達によって作られた型を、今でも多く所有しており、もっとも古いものには百年前の貴重なものも現存します。
For more than 100 years, the company has been producing a wide variety of materials, including lucky charms and character products such as beckoning cats and owls. Today, the company is trying to create arts and crafts with local artists using old molds made at the time of its founding, and is also working on new initiatives such as opening a gallery space.

100年以上にわたり、招き猫やふくろうなど縁起物やキャラクター商品など、多種多様な素地を生産。また現在では創業時に作られた古い型を利用し、地元作家と美術工芸品を作りだす試みや、ギャラリースペースの併設など新しい取り組みも行っています。
